Farranghostway

Closed to passengers since 1931, Marie gained access to the privately owned Farrangalway Railway Station to curate an unusual evening of storytelling and film.

Transported to the ‘undisclosed location’ by coach, a sell out audience boarded the platform by torchlight to watch a rare screening of Andrew Davis’ The Signalman (1976), adapted from the Dicken’s short story, with Denholm Elliot in the title role. The evening was introduced by a traditional Seanchai, who spun theme-appropriate yarns from historic oral folklore.
